Brown County Texas Timeline 1838-2013 - Local historians Frank Hilton and Clay Riley have compiled a new CD entitled "Brown County Texas Timeline, 1838-2013."  The timeline CD contains 62 pages and 85 black and white photos of events that happened in Brown County from 1838 to 2013. The CD is on sale at the Brownwood Local History and Genealogy Branch Library, as well as the Brown County Museum of History during their normal business hours for $10. All profits from the $10 sale of the CD benefit the Pecan Valley Genealogical Society (PVGS).  Please visit the library and museum to purchase a copy of the CD and support the PVGS.

They cost $7 and all profit from the sale of the disks goes to the Pecan Valley Genealogical Society. This historical research was compiled by Brown County Historian and PVGS Vice-President Clay Riley.  The disk has a photo of the Stonewall Jackson Camp reunion in 1910 at Brownwood, Texas. History of Brown County Railroads 1885 to Present - The Genealogy Library now has CD-ROM disk copies of a "History of Brown County Railroads" available for sale in  PDF format. They cost $10 and all profit from the sale of the disks goes to the Pecan Valley Genealogical Society. This historical research was done by Brown County Historian Frank Hilton.  The disk includes 82 pages of timeline history of the development of the railroads in Brown County along with 79 photos and drawings, including the interior of the former Harvey House. The railroad came to Brown County in 1885, and resulted in providing the county with faster travel for people, and the moving of goods to and from the county, such as cattle, sheep, hogs and cotton. This is the story of the Gulf, Colorado & Santa Fe Railway, the Fort Worth & Rio Grande, and the Brownwood North & South line of the Frisco. It tells the story of the named passengers trains that came through Brownwood and of their final passing. At one time 15 passenger trains a day came through Brownwood.
